One Down, Two to Go
Congratulations to the Varsity Football team, with their 24 - 0 win over St. Helena's Sunday. The Vikings enjoyed the type of total team effort Coach George talked about in a previous post on the coaches' eTeamz site, as the offense punched in three scores, (plus one defensive score that never made it to the official books, but that at least one player will remember for a while!), and the offense was able to hold St. Helena's scoreless. Gold Jerseys were awarded to Kyle Roach and Jim Custer, although the entire defense had an MVP day.
With this win, the Vikings advance to the semi-finals, held Sunday, November 5th at 6:00 PM at A.I. DuPont High School, where they will face nemesis St. Mary Assumption who dominated Our Lady of Fatima this weekend, 33 - 6. Come out and support the Varsity Vikings football team!!!
The players have earned the right to enjoy the victory for the day, but then it's time to buckle down and take care of business against St. Mary's of the Assumption. Until they earn it, they Vikings are winless against St. Mary for over a year, so players: Go Get It, and show who the better team is!!!!
